Only gods are worshipped unconditionally. People have to earn their love.
And Lady Gaga is only human - without question both deservedly famous and polarising, talented and fallible.
She attracts more fawning fanboyism than any artist with only two albums deserves, and just as much uninformed criticism from those who underestimate her.
So welcome to the middle - where we want the best from her... but good or bad, we'll take everything for what it is.

The comparisons aren't entirely valid, but no one is more important than Madonna in understanding what Lady Gaga could be.

Ooh, personal insults. “Your opinion is duly noted”, I said dryly, sarcasm so thick you could cut it with a knife. For extra irony, I’m working on a post right now that addresses the difference between opinion and objective fact!
Here’s a question for any haters, one I had to ask myself: How would you react if there was a chance that Lady Gaga - or any artist you dislike - might somehow became “good” in your eyes? Would you be happy for her, or too proud to admit it?
